背伸びをする stretch up

On the way to Great Grandma & Grandpa’s house in the Tohoku area, I found trees with white flowers. Those were apple trees. I was brought up in Kanto area and haven’t seen apple trees. The shape of the tree is unique as if the branches stretch up as each one likes.

調味料入れ　　cruet

They are facing each other and singing happily as if they are kissing. These are an oil cruet and vinegar cruet for salad dressing. The slightly bended headｓ and opened mouths somewhat look human. La la la la la …they seem very happy, don’t they?

I found theise cruet at MOMA shop on Omotesando Ave. one couple for 3890 yen.

All through this year 一年を通して
Youkabecome one year old today! It’s really nice to have your birthday. I have been very busy this year, but had a really nice time. What you could do last year was…just cry; now you can walk holding something. What can you do on your next birthday? I just wish for your health. I visited Hiroo Yamagata’s, a translator and writer (and also works for Nomura reserch institute), apartment for a home party. Kyudogakusha is the oldest reinforced concrete apartment building in Japan, which was built in the Taisho era as a dormitory. This renovated corporative housing has both a nostalgic atmosphere and the newest facilities. Hiroo has good taste and commitment not only to his translation and writings but also to his life style.

～で楽しむ　amuse with～

I meet these two dogs with an old man sometime on the same street. Today, I dared to ask to take their pictures. The old man seemed to be getting used to it. He just stood behind me and kept these dogs amused with a rattle. Well, I wanted to take a picture with you though…They are always strolling around the city very happily.
