These cruets's name is "Talking."They are saying "yu" from "Shoyu"(soysource), "si" from "Sio"(salt) and "ko" from "Koshou"(pepper). Mmm...they are weird in a way, but very charming, aren't they?

流行の波に遅れた。波を逃した。　miss the wave
Finally, I ate Krispy Kreme Doughnuts! Yeah, I know I missed the wave! I didn't wat to wait for more than an hour to get some doughnuts..but finally I deiceded to be on line. When I was on the line, the shop clerk gave me a hot Original Galzed. The texture is very soft but having a body. Mmm yum! "If you haven't had an Original Glazed HOT off the line, you should try one!" Just the thing is...it's very sweet and your stomach will feel heavy after you had one...

ちょっと立ち寄る　　drop by

There always is a long line in front of Nihonbashi maru, a Japanese sweet cracker shop.
The other day, the line wasn’t so long by chance so I just dropped by to buy some crackers. One of the crackers is Negi-miso, the taste of soy seasoning and Chinese onion. I enjoyed the unusual taste. Yum!

気づかいのある attentive

I attended the Organic Wine party( held at Au legumes, a french restaurant). Those wines, selected by Hasgawa of Mavie, have rich, complex flavor, beatiful coloar and taste great! Organic wines are earth and human body-friendly.I didn't have any unpleasant reactions after drinking those wines.The main dish was deep-fried vetables and black rice. The chef did a great job and the staff was very attentive. I enjoyed great meals with great friends.And...we had a great guest too!

I had "Blushing Mango Cloud" at Cold Stone Creamy. At that shop, you can choose some　ice creams and mix those the way you want it. They have three sizes;like it, love it, Gotta have it! Well, I've got to do...I'll have "Ultimate Indulgence", strawberry shortcake serenade in Gotta have it! size next time.

My dad gathered edible wild plants,such as Thistle, Butterbur sprout and so on from mountain and mom cooked Tempura at my hometown. Dipped in batter and deep-fried, those wild plants became very crispy and rich in the taste. Beer went really well with those Tempra.

I had rose petal and verbena herbal tea on the forty fourth floor. Rose petals offer a flowery aroma and a fragrant taste. The essential oil in the rosebud can help to improve circulation. Many of these vegetables are savory, some are sweet and mixed together they achieve a balance of flavors…nutty, rich, delicate. It’s really unique and pretty but the taste is…I’d say I just finish it.

I cook baby food for Youka every day. I “have to”, but I also “love to” do it! Just the thing is…it takes time. Then, I just decide to play with it! Today, my theme is “wannabe Picaso.” Well, I don’t have the talent to paint, so I just put food paste on the plate like pigments. It’s artistic…isn’t it?…or maybe not.

I had a party at the restaurant “musmus”. The restaurant serves various steamed dishes. What I care about is…the name. musumusu sounds like a foreign language but actually it’s Japanese. How cool! It’s a really easy name to remember because of the agreeable sound.

真空パック　vacuum pack

Walking in the Tokyo Station, I found pretty boxes that seem like real cheese packages. It’s very easy to carry around and good for a gift. You can enjoy the cake for a few days before you open the vacuum pack. I didn’t expect it to taste very nice; the taste, however, was really good! Bon appetit!

手を抜く cut corners on―

I tried to cut corners on cooking due to a lack of time these days, so I cooked Curry today. I used a pressure cooker for 10 minutes to make the beef tender and then put it into other pan and stewed it. It’s easy to cook, good to save time and tastes not so bad, if I do say so myself ( I hope so).

I do enjoy lightly toasted bagel with cream cheese once in a while. Lightly toasted or warmed bagels have a delicate crust and a soft, chewy centre. Ｉ love the texture. I had a cranberry bagel with cream cheese this morning. It’s really good with fried bacon, salad and some fruits.

I had lunch at the Australian food restaurant, Salt with editor Hiromi of NikkeiBP. She said that she is expecting! Wow, congratulations! We ordered, however, a very rare cooked lamb steak before she confessed. Gee, if you are expecting , you should not eat rare meat!!!　I mean it!

I enjoyed fresh fish after a long time at Tsukiji Umaimonya. The fish restaurant serves many different kinds of fish. I love their Sashimi and roasted dried calamari the best. If you like a “Tsukiji” type of restaurant( it means very casual Japanese style diner), I strongly recommend this place! You can enjoy great meals. I swear!

I had Chocolixir at Godiva. Chocolixir is a frozen chocolate drink similar to a chocolate shake in many ways. Milk Chocolate Caramel flavor, the one I had, is blended with Godiva caramel pieces and topped with caramel sauce. It’s really rich in taste! Mmm yum.

お酒に強い　 have much tolerance for alcohol

I don’t have much tolerance for alcohol and don’t drink that much. But it’s a different story if you have tolerance and if you like it. I enjoy drinking just a small amount. Now I stopped drinking for Youka. Oh well, it’s a shame to miss the best season for enjoying beer!

ぐつぐつ煮る　simmer

I got two boxes of strawberries, so I cooked jam using 5 packs.When I bring those strawberries to a simmer, sweet smells are spread in the room.
Then a little bit of the juice with sugar spilt out of the pot and burnt! It also makes a sweet, burnt smell, that is not so bad actually.

I spilt a glass of cocoa when I was about to take a picture of it.
I felt sorry about that, however, the clerk said “Oh no, there are some books in the desk drawer” as if he was blaming me. I felt sorry at first, but the way he said it annoyed me. This is misplaced anger! Also I’m sorry about it!

Now is the season of first fruits. This is the first corn of the season for me.

When I was walking on Kotto St., after a long time, I found the restaurant I used to frequent when I worked as a student part time translator in the area. The wall was painted, however, the appearance and the atmosphere hadn’t changed. It makes me happy as if I met my old friend after ages.

I had a hot chocolate at the AMEDEI’s café. AMEDEI got the best award at the World Chocolate Festival. The taste was good, but I expected too much so I wasn’t impressed that much. It’s like watching a movie that has a really good reputation. You should not expect too much, so you can accept the thing as it is!

I had Tom Yam Noodles at the Thai restaurant “Siam”, which is run by a Thai owner. The taste is authentic Thai;, that means…hot! One of my Thai friends told me that people in Thailand add sugar (!?), pepper and nam pla as you like.

At the Bangkok airport, there is a coffee shop, which is located on the middle second floor, serving really good Tom Yam Kun. If you have a chance to go there, just try it!

This omelet looks real but actually this is a fake omelet, which you can find in front of any restaurant. This looks, however, very real. If you have this on your dining table, it would be a good ornament.
★These fake dishes are usually made of wax. I don’t know why but sometimes real foods look more fake than the wax ones we see on the street.

Sashimi was served in a white bowl, and you know what? The bowl was made of ice! With the icy bowl, you can enjoy Sashimi’s firmness till the last piece.
I wanna have the bowl in my home. I know it’s impossible to reuse it though!

One of my favorite bakery is BIGOT. Especially, I love the Pear Danish, which has decently simmered pear and sweet custard cream. Orange is also delicious with a little bit of a bitter taste. Bigot-san is the person who first introduced French bread to Japan.

What do you wanna eat from this dish? The edge is surrounded by illustrations in which a guy is wearing a clown’s nose and hair wig. It is on the edge of cool and wack. If I have this dish, I will eat Japanese style curry…I don’t know why but I just feel like it.

Is this a Japanese sweet or a French one?　 Chocola Yatsuhashi is made of rice cake, filled with chocolate, and powdered with cinnamon. The taste is very distinctive. I love it, though the taste will depend on the person.
