This unique shape stuff is a mug, which will keep you firmly grounded with its unusual choice of handle, which is attached in symmetry. You can use either the right or left hand as you like. I would say “One handle is enough for both hands!” Don’t say such a tasteless thing. Useless (Necessity, usually we say ) is the mother of invention!

★I found this mug on the third floor of Tokyo Midtown.
このおもしろい形のものは、マグカップ。左右対称にとりつけられたちょっと変わった取っ手で安定しています。おかげで、右手でも左手でも好きなほうで使えますね。「両手ったって、ひとつの取っ手で十分！」なんて、ついいいそうだけど、無粋はなしで。無駄（まあ、「必要」が普通ながら）は発明の母！かもしれません。

まったくもって、両方の取っ手は不要です。
右手で使いたいなら右に、左手なら左にくるんとすればいいんです。
でも、左右にあるからこそ、このマグはおもしろい。
今までにこういうのがなかったのは、
常識にとらわれているからか、
それとも、やっぱりジャマだからか＾＾；
ま、無粋は言いっこなし。
両手で持って、熱いコーヒーなんかが楽しめそうです。

I was with my five-month-old baby and I couldn’t , unfortunately, buy the stuff TT. I can’t carry many stuff especially something fragile such as cake, china and so on when I’m with her…But, later I definitely get the one!
