I asked the concierge to make a reservation at a local restaurant. He said “How about Euro Asian, maybe?” Oh, I see. Local food means cultural fusion cuisine.
コンシェルジュに「地元の料理を」とお願いしたら、「ならばユーロアジアンどうでしょう？」と言われました。なるほどいろんな文化が混じった料理というわけです。
He recommended “Indigo” located downtown.
そこで、ダウンタウンにある「インディゴ」を紹介してくれました。
The restaurant has an Asian wooden interior with red and yellow walls.There were some Buddha and Asian lamp ornaments.
東南アジア風の格子に、赤や黄色のカラフルな壁。仏像が飾られ、東洋の提灯が飾られています。

The roasted lamb we ordered was covered with sweet gravy sauce. Fried dumplings and crab cakes are a mixed taste of Europe and Asia.
注文したラム肉のローストは、甘辛いソース味で、揚げ餃子、クラブケーキなど、まさに文化もフュージョン。
There were American, European, Chinese and many other nationalities represented there.The guests were also multi-cultural.
客層も料理も、アメリカ、ヨーロッパ、中国などいろんな文化が見られます。
I wonder if it’s really a local food place…but those cuisines went well with Porto wine, anyway.
これがローカルフードなのかとは思いつつ……とりあえずは、ポルトワインによくあいました。
