体感！日本の伝統芸能 Traditional Japanese performing arts

日本の伝統芸能展は、こんなにも日本のアートはクールなのかと再認識させてくれそうです。日本の伝統芸能は、英語で　traditional Japanese performing arts。「紡ぐ」プロジェクトの一環として３月まで開催。改めて日本の文化を見直すいい機会になりそうです。

A special exhibition showcasing traditional Japanese performing arts opened
特別展「体感！日本の伝統芸能」が、

at Hyokeikan of the Tokyo National Museum in Taito Ward, Tokyo.
東京都台東区（JR上野駅）の東京国立博物館表慶館で開催されています。

“The World of Traditional Performing Arts” exhibition introduces
「日本の伝統芸能の世界」では、

kabuki, bunraku puppet plays, noh and kyogen, gagaku court music and kumi-odori dance
歌舞伎、文楽、能楽、雅楽、組踊などを、

＜— all of which aredesignated as intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO＞
＜すべてユネスコ無形文化遺産に登録＞

— through costumes, props, musical instruments, model stages and other items
衣装、小道具、楽器の展示や、再現した舞台などを通して紹介しています。

Old films and video footage related to those art forms are also being shown,
芸術作品に関連した貴重な映像も上映しています。

including “Momijigari” (Autumn Leaves Viewing), which is the oldest film in Japan, dating back to 1899 and starring kabuki actors Ichikawa Danjuro IX and Onoe Kikugoro V,
九代目市川団十郎と五代目尾上菊五郎が出演する、1899年の日本最古の映画「紅葉狩」や、

and a gagaku concert performed by musicians from the music department of the Imperial Household Agency’s Board of the Ceremonies.

The exhibition, which is being held at the museum’s Hyokeikan building runs through March 13.
特別展は博物館の表慶館にて3月13日まで開催されます。

This is a part of the Japan Cultural Expo and the Tsumugu project to promote traditional Japanese culture.
日本の伝統文化を発信する「日本博」と「紡ぐプロジェクト」の一環として開催だそうです。

日本の伝統芸術というのは、
ここまでクールなのかと思えるほど、
素材そのものが醸し出す陰影が美しく、
作品が心に染みいります。

光や影、香り、漂う空気、空間……
そこにあるすべてが
その作品を仕上げてくれる素材。

美術館や博物館もいいけど、
お寺や古い家に飾られた作品もまた味があります。
できれば森閑とした雰囲気の中で、
ぜひ生でも見たいですね。
