A huge numbers of dolls were exhibited in an old Japanese lord’s house, licorice house. Old wood and tatami mat smells spread throughout the room and faint light came through the Japanese paper sliding door, Shoji, and lit over those dolls. Very sophisticated Japanese “shade and shadow” world can be experienced there.
The oldest hina of Licorice house was created in 18th century, Tempo era.

昔の地主のお宅「甘草屋敷」には、膨大な数のひな人形が飾られています。古い木と畳の香りが部屋いっぱいに広がって、かすかな灯りが和紙がはられた障子をぬけて、ひな人形に降りそそぎます。そこでは、洗練された日本の陰影の文化が楽しめます。
