I went to an Italian restaurant, that uses Kyoto vegetables, called Il Ghiottone, which a friend of mine frequents. They use very simple but fashionable plates and cups and the cuisine is very tasty. I enjoyed the apple flavored bubble sauce and fish meat pudding. Just one thing is that the space is a bit tiny, because of the close location to Tokyo station, I guess.

Il Ghiottone is located on the first floor of the building next to the central post office.
